What OE means on this model

Water was not pumped out in the time allowed. Food residue in the filter, a kinked drain hose, and a disposal connection that was never cleared are the three causes that account for nearly all of them.

Symptoms you will notice

• Water sitting in the bottom of the tub with the door shut
• Cycle stops partway through and the door will not unlock
• Drain hose has water backed up into it
• Machine flashes a drain or pump code on every cycle

Common causes

The code tells you what the control detected, not which part failed. These are the causes we see most often, roughly in order of likelihood:

• Debris in the accessible pump filter, common enough to be the first thing to check every time
• Drain hose kinked, pushed too far into the standpipe so it cannot breathe, or frozen
• Drain hose end pushed so deep into the standpipe that the tub cannot siphon
• Drain pump impeller jammed by a coin, hairpin, or sock
• Hose or pump intact but the control solenoid has failed
• Slow or blocked household drain line

What you can safely check

These are homeowner-level checks. None of them need you to open a live electrical compartment or work on gas.

• Open the filter door or the lower kick plate and drain the tub into a shallow pan before you touch anything.
• Remove the filter and look through it. Coins and lint are the normal finds.
• Pull the drain hose and check the hose is clear all the way along its length, not just at the ends.
• Confirm the hose end sits in the standpipe with room for air to pass. A sealed hose holds water in the tub.
• Lift the hose end and listen for a gulp when water is pushed out. If you hear nothing, the pump is not moving water.
