Heat Pump error codes

Heat pump fault codes, including defrost and reversing valve faults.

Pick your brand, then your model family

59 codes across 1 model families. The model family matters, because two heat pump models from the same brand can read the same number as two different faults.

Daikin

59 codes

Daikin furnaces use Goodman control platforms, so Goodman model families apply. Daikin VRV IV heat pumps and Daikin mini split and thermostat codes are entirely separate systems with their own code tables.

The RXTQ outdoor unit serves VRV indoor units over a shared communication bus, and the factory splits the code list by which unit reports it. A and C codes come from indoor units, E, F, H, J, L and P from the outdoor unit, and U and M are system or centralized controller faults. This is a commercial and light commercial multi split platform, not a residential one indoor mini split unit.

Matching equipment, published under its own hub

You are in the right place to start, but these codes belong to a different kind of equipment, so we publish them there rather than republishing the same table twice. Follow the link and you are on the canonical page for your unit.

These AIRSTAGE units heat as well as cool: the service reference gives a rated heating capacity of 3.2 kW on the ASTG09KMTC and 4.1 kW on the ASTG12KMTC alongside the cooling figures, and the outdoor refrigerant circuit contains a four way valve to reverse the flow. Most of the outdoor codes on this page are compressor, condenser, refrigerant and reversing valve faults, which is the heating half of the same machine. The codes are published once here rather than twice, and this link is here so the heat pump readers reach the right table.

The MUY outdoor unit in this series is the heating version and the MUZ is cooling only, so the heating half of the same platform is filed as a heat pump. The outdoor codes on this page are mostly compressor, condenser and refrigerant faults, which is where the heat pump side of the equipment lives. The codes are published once here rather than twice, and this link is here so the heat pump readers reach the right table.
